Move the Acquisitions Dept. under Research Services. These two units are already closely aligned through the selection, ordering, and receipt of library materials and must already work in close concert over budgets, licensing, and policy issues surrounding collections. With the continued growth of our ebook and patron drive acquisition plans, these two units will have to work symbiotically to ensure workflow efficiency. Additionally, merging these units will offer opportunities for cross-training and skill set redundancy to hedge against an ever shrinking work force and the loss of institutional memory.
