A Library Presence at Tail Gating Parties

The old nerd/jock dichotomy is dead. We know that Texans love their football. Why isn't the Library out there promoting itself during football games when thousands of potential donors wash across campus many in a beer fueled haze?

We could give away all sorts of Library schwag and bottled water while totally working the crowd for those impulse donations? Many parents might wish to support their children's academic future by making donations to the library.

Has there been an effort to request a percentage of sports revenue to go towards the libraries? We do not have an alumni base, so wouldn't it be a good pairing? It would be terrific p/r for sports to show a direct link to supporting academia (as opposed to being vetted through the president http://blogs.utexas.edu/towertalk/?s=mondays+with+the+faculty). It would be interesting to see if some of our peer institutions already do this.
