Web presence as One Library?

What savings could be achieved by present ourselves online as one library, with one coherent set of services and discovery tools? We currently present ourselves as eleven different libraries, based on building locations, each with a somewhat different look and feel. It seems like there would be a significant amount of savings in staff time in branches/units and is TIS if we reduced the proliferation of pages that we as an organization create and maintain. Has this proliferation made our web presence too confusing for our users?

This is the very best idea I have seen.

If I am not mistaken TIS is working on having a more cohesive web presence. Using templates both for structure and content can save time (and already does) but, as with other services, we also need to take in to consideration potential and important losses in trying the one-fits-all approach. Users in different disciplines have different needs and different learning styles. Our collections are different reflecting this.
Creating learning objects that we can share and repurpose and working more on templates that are suitable for different branches, as well as, a stronger graphic identity would be great, but all of these will need to be flexible enough that we are still able to make them fit individual branches needs.

I agree that more cohesiveness and consistency across the websites would be excellent. However, branch libraries are subject specific and the websites try to provide resources for their subjects and target patrons.
